It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, nana, gigi, and friend, Nancy Anne Wilcox (Swain), on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the age of 72. She is now reunited in heaven with her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Stephen Wilcox, Sr. ❤️
Beyond being a devoted nana and mother, Nancy was an amazing person beloved by all who knew her. The doors of the Wilcox home, and site 84, were always open to friends and family, welcoming all with warmth and kindness. Known for her spirit, Nancy’s vibrant personality and genuine approach to life made every moment spent with her unforgettable to those around her.
Having worked for over 20 years at the Old Saybrook Walmart and prior as a cool cafeteria lady in blue, she became a cherished figure within the community, always brightening the day with her greetings and warm smile. As the self-proclaimed campground queen, Nancy looked forward to her annual gatherings with friends, where she could relax on her deck with coffee in hand and a smile on her face.
Nancy leaves behind her cherished children, Stephen Jr., Shane, Charity, and Crystal, along with their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many dear family and friends. She is also survived by her brothers, Michael Swain and Amos Swain, her sister, Amelia Swain, and her Yorkipoo, Gizmo. Nancy rejoins her beloved family whom passed before her, including her sister Sandy Guerin; brothers, Harry Swain, Raymond Swain, and her mother, Phyllis Swain.
Nancy’s love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed and remembered with a smile.
We want to especially thank the many Drs, Nurses and others who cared for and visited Nancy with love while she battled her illness courageously. ❤️
