
Paulina Maria del Refugio Trejo Salazar at 103, one day before her 104th birthday died June 21, 2011 at Gladeview Convalescent Home in Old Saybrook. She was a devoted and loving mother to Marie Salazar Glowski and her beloved son-in-law Frank Glowski of Old Saybrook. Pauline was born in Mexico City, June 22, 1907. She retired in 1974, after 25 years of employment with Favita Sewing Company as a piece work seamstress in a factory in lower Manhattan. She was pre-deceased by her husband Humberto Luis Salazar in 1968. She leaves her granddaughter, Jennifer Marline Pernal, son-in-law Steven Pernal, grandson Frank Luis Glowski and her 4 grandchildren Amanda, Jillian, Nicholas and Natalie.
Pauline who was affectionately known as “Abuelita” enjoyed volunteering and spending time with her family and their friends. To her last days, she had a wonderful sense of humor. Her kind, gentle, loving nature and joy for life will be greatly missed. She has been a role model and inspiration for all who have had the good fortune to meet her. Mass was celebrated in her honor at St. John Church in Old Saybrook.
