Sylvester Thomas, Sr., of Old Saybrook,CT passed away in Old Saybrook on August 18, 2022. He was born on April 5, 1935, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the son of Van Lee and Ruth Thomas. A resident of Old Saybrook for the last 67 years and retired from Millstone in Waterford, CT after 25 years. One of his favor hobbies was keeping up with his grandchildren’s different adventures and activities. He enjoyed spending time with local veteran members at the VFW. He was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.
Sylvester is survived by his wife Rosie Manzie Thomas; his son Sylvester Thomas jr., and his wife Tanya of Edina, Minnesota: grandchildren Autumn, Bryce, and Sterling Thomas; his brother Arvester Lee of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was predeceased by his daughter Velma Thomas and 5 siblings.
Funeral Service will be held at Swan Funeral Home at 1224 Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook,CT, Saturday, August 27,2022 at 11am. Viewing time will be prior to the funeral from 10:30am-11:00am.
