Thomas Joseph Kenny Jr.

Thomas J. Kenny, age 81 of Old Saybrook passed away on April 6, 2012. Thomas was born in Glendale, New York on January 1, 1931 to the late Elizabeth (Gibbs) and Thomas J. Kenny, Sr. Besides his parents Thomas was predeceased by his sister Margaret Morris and her husband Thomas. He is survived by his Beloved wife of 55 years, Rita Kenny; daughters Kathleen K. Sasso and her husband Robert, and Mary E. Kenney and her husband Michael; sons Michael T. Kenny, Thomas P. Kenny and his wife Jude, and William L. Kenny and his wife Jennifer. Thomas will also be missed by his grandchildren Ryan, Krysta, Claire, Kelly, Katie, Joe, Melissa, Patrick, Jessie, Belle, Tommy, Taylor, and Bailey as well as many nieces and nephews.

Tom proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed as an auditor by Met Life before he became an employee of SNET in New London, retiring 35 years later as Staff Asst in the ITC Operations Dept, George St, New Haven. He was a member and volunteer at the Branford Trolley Museum. He enjoyed many years working as Conductor for the Valley Railroad, Essex. He was a 55 year 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was involved with the Hamden Youth Hockey Assn, SNET Retirees Assn, and Telephone Pioneers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. John Church in Old Saybrook. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd. in Old Saybrook.
