Timothy Stenz

Tim was born June 30, 1953 in Long Island, NY. to Donald and Cecilia Stenz. He spent his early years in Roosevelt, Long Island and Bay Shore, Long Island. He was a graduate of Brentwood High School.

He became a highly talented carpenter eventually specializing as a glazier working in numerous sky scrapers in New York city including the Twin Towers.

In the 1980’s he opened his own glass business in Bay shore, Long Island. He later moved to Connecticut continuing in the glass trade and later ship building. But his greatest joy came in his later years when he came to Old Saybrook to work in the Old Saybrook public school system under the direction of facility and finance director Julie Pendelton.

Tim was both an evening custodian for the past several years as well as working in the cafeteria during school hours; during that time Tim was referred to as the “Smoothie King” by the students and he always showed such a genuine interest in their lives, activities and families.

Tim was very outgoing and highly thought of both by his family and throughout the towns of Old Saybrook and Westbrook.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Patricia Stenz of Ledyard, brothers George Stenz and wife Sarah, Donald Stenz and Linda Stenz, his sister Dawn Davidson and husband David, Nieces Stephanie Caraccia and husband Andrew and Jennifer Licari and husband Vincent, nephews Dylan Stenz and wife Stacey, and Andrew Stenz and wife Stella. Tim was preceded by his parents and his brother Walter Stenz

A memorial service will be held Saturday Dec 29, 2018 12 noon to 4pm at Swan Funeral home, 1224 Boston post rd Old Saybrook CT. in order to reminisce, honor, grieve, support each other and to chat about the amazing man that Timothy Stenz was.
