

William M. Wren, 79, of Westbrook, formerly of Killingworth passed away Saturday November 24, 2012 at his home. Beloved husband of the late Isabelle B. (Benedetto) Wren, Bill was born on January 20, 1933 in Westbrook to the late Paul D. and Pauline (Palmer) Wren.
Bill was a 1950 graduate of Morgan High School and a veteran of the Korea Conflict serving in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Radio Maintenance School and Milwaukee school of Engineering, graduating in 1958. Bill was self-employed from 1958 to 1961, and worked for Shore Television in Clinton until 1967. Bill worked for Chester Electronic Laboratories for the most of his life as Assistant Supervisor and Senior Technician, and in his later years working for Rapid Print. Bill volunteered at Old Saybrook Convelancet Home (now Apple Rehab) for over 16 years. The shoreline has lost a good friend.
Bill is survived by his sister Elinore Spencer of Old Saybrook and four nephews, Robert Johnson of New Haven, Jeffrey Johnson of Clinton, Glen Johnson of Niantic, and Ronald Johnson of Clinton; and by his two great nephews.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook on Thursday November 29, from 4 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 30, at 11am at St Mark the Evangelist Church in Westbrook. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Mark the Evangelist Church, 222 McVeigh Rd., Westbrook, CT 06498.
