

Winifred Costello, 92, of Old Saybrook, passed away August 22, 2012. She was born July 18, 1920 in New Jersey. She is the daughter of Jeremiah and Matilda (O'Leary) Foley. Winifred is preceded in death by parents and husband, Edmund Costello. She is survived by three daughters, Eileen Hosier, widow of John Hosier of Old Saybrook, Barbara Wilt and her husband Charles of Columbia, CT, Mary Cameron and her husband Michael of Old Saybrook. Winifred is also survived by seven grand-children; Kathy Hosier (Chip Adams), Eric Hosier, Stacey Hosier, Christine Wilt (Devan Ganeshananthan), Michael Wilt (Megan Lindley), Kathleen Wilt, Scott Cameron and his companion, Michelle McLain; and two great grandchildren; Maya and Asha Ganeshananthan. Winifred worked at Morgan High School, active in the Old Saybrook Estuary and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for many years.
Family will receive friends, Friday (TODAY), August 24, 2012 at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook from 4-7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at St. Johns Roman Catholic Church, Main St., Old Saybrook at 10 a.m. with Committal to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton.
