Arlene Lily Wiles

MILFORD - Arlene Lily Wiles, 87, died Jan. 31, 2011, in Bangor. She was born April 7, 1923, in Garfield, daughter of Arthur and Nancy (Eastman) Botting. Arlene's interests included quilt making, knitting, crocheting, rides in the car, and yard sailing with friends. She also enjoyed picking fresh fruits, vegetables and berries seasonally. She is survived by her children, Bertram Jr. of Alpaso, Texas, Melody Patterson of Hampton, N.H., Aleta Green of Alton and David Wiles of Milford; grandchildren, David Jr., Kristy, Darrel Sr., Melanie, Dennis Jr., Bertram III and Willie; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Norman; sister, Regina; many nieces and nephews; and a special best friend, Kathleen "Tat" Springer. She was predeceased by her husband, Bertram R. Wiles; a daughter, Mavis Wiles; brothers, Hershal and Lyman Sr.; and a sister, Madelene. Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. All are invited to a gathering at her son David's house after the visitation. Interment will be at Lawndale Cemetery in the spring.
