2023. Dad passed peacefully at home, his children by his side. Many grand and great-grandchildren surrounded him as well. He was born in Cardville on October 5, 1933, a son of James and Gladys (Madden) Haverlock.
Dad worked for the State Highway as a mechanic until he was able to buy his own truck and go into business for himself working in the woods, eventually becoming a logging contractor. He served the community in many roles, as selectman, school board member, fireman, fire chief and town fire warden for many years.
Dad found enjoyment traveling south during mud season with Mom at his side. He earned his pilot’s license and took every opportunity to take family and friends for an aerial view of the surrounding area.
Dad’s true life passion was realized when he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and service to Him. He was the last charter member of the Olamon Faith Bible Church. He served over the years as Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Trustee and Deacon. Retirement afforded him devoted time to Bible study and the sharing of it.
Dad is survived by his three children, Brent Haverlock and wife Julie, Heidi Carroll, Heather Smith and husband James, daughter-in-law, Ella Smart and husband Jacob. He was known as Pa to his thirteen grandchildren, Chad Haverlock and wife, Kristie, Angie Madden and husband Andrew, Stacie Haverlock, Sarah Thibeault and boyfriend Dave Cameron, Victoria Cockerill and husband Rhett, Veronica Sibley and husband Marcus, Fernald Haverlock, Erica Milbourne and husband Paul, Nicole Douglas and husband James, Michelle Swope and husband Taylor, Michael Carroll, Katie Smith and boyfriend Dustin Ellison, Cody Smith and girlfriend Paige Daigle. He also leaves behind brother-in-law Carroll Madden; special cousins, Fernald Madden and Faralyn Ogden, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
