

Norma “Sally” (Reynolds) Paradis passed away at her home in Old Town on January 20, 2018
surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 10, 1936 in Great Works, the daughter of the late Charles and Bernice (Folster) Reynolds and step daughter of Elmer Grant, Sr. She was raised in Old Town by her grandparents Gordon & Mary (Peters) Folster and her Aunt Katharine (Kitty) Folster.
Sally graduated from Old Town High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Paradis at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Old Town on September 8, 1956. They were married 54 years when he passed away. Sally went to work at the University of Maine as a secretary following her graduation and worked there until her first child was born in 1958.
She was then a stay at home mom until the youngest of her 5 children started school in 1970.
At that time she went to work at the Lewis Stairs School as a noon-time supervisor for a year.
In 1971 she went to work at the Superintendent of Schools Office in Old Town as a Payroll Personnel Secretary where she worked until her retirement in 1997.
She was very active in the Lewis Stairs PTC, was a Cub Scout den mother and a Brownie leader.
Following her retirement she spent many years doing genealogy. She and Ray loved attending music, sports and special events of their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting,
making cards on the computer, reading and watching the Red Sox and Patriots games. Most of all she loved all the special occasions, and holidays when her family was all together, especially the 4th of July at her family cottage at Chemo Pond. She was blessed by being a 35-year survivor of breast cancer.
She is survived by her loving family, Kevin and his wife Kelly, Mark & his wife Dianne, Mary Chappelle & her husband Steve all of Old Town, David & his wife Ronda of Reading, MA, Lisa Pelletier & her partner Jeff Hoyt of Topsham/Bowdoinham. Fourteen very special grandchildren, Amanda Lozier and her husband Ken, Evan Paradis, Brian & Travis Chappelle all of Old Town. Adam Paradis & his wife Sonali of Bangor, Brendan Paradis & Amarinda Keyes of Sydney, Chad Paradis of Freeport, Julia Paradis & Alex O'Halloran of Brighton, MA, Jacqueline, Danielle and Katherine Paradis of Reading, MA, Megan Pelletier & Fiance' Nate Dyer & Michelle Pelletier all of Topsham, Bethany Charron and her husband Tyler of Bowdoin, and very special great grandchildren, Jacoby & Claire Paradis of Bangor, Lily Dyer of Topsham, Bryson Charron of Bowdoin. She is also survived by a brother Elmer (Lin) Grant and his wife Nancy of Ware, MA and a brother Gordon Grant of Worcester, MA , brother-in-law Edward Paradis of Apopka, FL, a brother-in-law Harlan Cust of Old Town, a sister-in-law Barbara Jones and her husband Ron of Bangor and several nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
10AM Wednesday at the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, 429 Main Street, Old Town, Maine. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Burial will be at Lawndale Cemetery in the Spring.
