

Preston served with the U.S. Marines. He worked many years at Old Town Pulp and Paper mill, started at the mill in an entry-level position and worked his way up to management. He loved to go fishing and was a member of Old Town Elks Benevolent and Protective Order No. 1287. He was a "hands-on" type of guy and was always fixing or tinkering with something.
He is survived by son, Preston Stuart Jr. and wife, Rhonda (Drinkwater) of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Whitney and Nathanael Stuart of Las Vegas; stepchildren, Ralph Boyington of Alaska, Christine Boyington of Old Town, Mike Boyington of Milford and David Boyington of New Hampshire; siblings, Robert Lounsbury and wife, Vina, of Old Town, Charlene Burns, and Norma Rand, both of Old Town; in-laws, Pauline and Gary Shorette of Bradley, George and Wanda Grenier of Old Town, Jackie Grenier and Rita Grenier, both of Old Town, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne (Grenier) Stuart, in 1998; infant son, James Herbert; and brothers-in-law, Robert Burns, Warren Rand Jr. and Richard Grenier. Preston is also survived by his wonderful family of Maple Wing at Orono Commons.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Donations may be made to Orono Commons Activity Fund, 117 Bennoch Road, Orono, ME 04473. Arrangements by Birmingham Funeral Home, Old Town.
