

Sadie was raised and educated in Milo, Maine. Upon graduating from High School, she went right to work waitressing and housekeeping. In 1941 she was married to Ludger Cyr. Together they moved to Connecticut in search of work so they could buy a home a start a family. Sadie was employed at Underwood, Inc. working in the typewriter assembly line for 19 years before retiring and coming home to Maine. Sadie loved to keep busy. She valued the skills and crafts she learned to make from her mother. She followed in her footsteps learning to create things from nothing. She truly enjoyed volunteering to crochet blankets for the Old Town Animal shelter to be placed in the cages to provide comfort for many cats. Sadie had created over 400 of these blankets by hand.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Ludger Cyr, and a brother Paul A. LeVesque and his wife Barbara.
Sadie will be missed by her daughter, Bonnie Daugherty and her husband David Sr. of Glenburn; three grandchildren, David Daugherty Jr. of E. Hartford, CT; Joanne Trelli of Bristol, CT; and Theresa Doyon of Vernon, CT; four great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; a special niece Beverly of Old Town; and a special friend Violet Smith of Bangor.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Saturday April 20, 2013 from 12pm to 2pm at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street in Old Town. A funeral service will held immediately following at 2pm with Father Roland Nadeau officiating.
