Alton—Warren M. Kidder, 61, died unexpectedly March 28, 2021 from an aortic aneurysm. He was born June 29, 1959 in Bangor the son of Malcolm L. and Evie E. (Feero) Kidder.
Warren was a 1977 graduate of Old Town High School and graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor’s of Education in 1986, Master of Education in 1997 and Certificate of Advanced Studies in 2004. He was currently in his 34th year of teaching seventh and eighth grade history and social studies at the Dr. Lewis S. Libby School, Milford. Warren was active in many school events and organized the annual Veterans Recognition Program, was the 8th Grade Class trip advisor, and was the technology point person.
Warren’s true passion was his Old Town United Baptist Church where he served in many roles as organist and choir member, Coordinator of the Community Block Party, led Sunday Night Bible Study group, served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years and currently served as the Outreach Director. Many summers, he served as camp counselor at the New England Frontier Camp, Building Disciples for Christ Using Outdoor Experiences, in Lovell, Maine.
Warren’s interest in history also lead to working as a tour guide for Cyr/Northstar Tours.
He is survived by his parents Malcolm and Evie Kidder and “Aunt” Shirley Alexander, many friends, colleagues and students.
It has been a goal for Warren that the Baptist Church purchase and use a digital marquee sign. In his honor, memorial contributions may be made to the United Baptist Church 86 Middle Street, Old Town 04468 to make his dream a reality.
A service will be conducted 1PM Saturday April 10, 2021 at the United Baptist Church Old Town. In compliance with CDC guidelines, please observe social distancing and wear a face covering. Please be aware that space may be limited to maintain the state mandated limits on the number of people allowed for an indoor gathering. Burial will be later in the spring at the Pushaw Cemetery, Hudson.
