Amanda Shields-Cuzzilla

Amanda Lea Shields-Cuzzilla, 33, of Southaven, MS began the first day of her eternal life, Sunday, August 21, 2011 after a 3 year long battle with Metastatic Melanoma. Amanda was an artist and entrepreneur, spending many hours creating one of a kind works of art and jewelry that she sold on www.Etsy.com , at Oliver’s Drug store, and at local trade shows. She had an amazing talent for repurposing once forgotten objects, turning them into treasures. Her positive outlook and strength will forever be an inspiration for family, friends, and those who come to know her story. She was the love of her husband Steven’s life, providing constant support in his career goals. Amanda was a loving mother to her son Grayson. She and Steven enjoyed spending time with him: watching movies, talking about whatever might come up, introducing him to local museums, taking family pets (Patch and Gia) on walks and singing him to sleep. Amanda was a devoted daughter to her parents, Elton and Dinah Shields, and the much adored sister of Christy Shields-Battle and Tim Shields (Carolina); a loving aunt to Abby and Indiana; a cherished daughter-in-law to Michael and Jackie Dodd; and a special sister-in-law to Delaney Dodd. Although in death she will be greatly missed, her life will forever be celebrated by all that were touched by it. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 23, 2011 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The celebration of life will be held at Getwell Road United Methodist church at 10:00am Wednesday August 24, 2011.
