Carol Inez Wallace, 83, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 2, 1942, in Lexington, TN, to William Perry and Ollie Herndon, Carol lived a life full of warmth, joy, and generosity.
A woman of simple pleasures, Carol had a deep love for her garden. She found great joy in harvesting and spent countless hours canning what she grew. You could often find her at the farmers market, sharing her passion for fresh produce with others. Family was everything to Carol, and she loved cooking meals for them, always making sure no one left the table hungry.
Carol also had an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed attending auctions and had a knack for buying storage units, often renting a place to resell the treasures she’d uncover. It was the thrill of the hunt that she relished most.
Her love for animals was boundless. Much like Ellie Mae, Carol had a heart big enough to welcome every stray that came her way. Whether it was a dog, cat, coons in need, Carol would take them in without a second thought. She was especially fond of hummingbirds, faithfully setting up feeders each year to enjoy their visit.
Carol will be remembered for her kind heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a family who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Lester “Bub” Wallace; her parents, Perry and Ollie Herndon, and her two sisters, Martha Daum and Kathy Saliba.
She leaves behind her two children, Curtis Mullins (Carrie) and Candice Mullins. Carol also leaves behind her granddaughter, Ashley Stanga, and two great grandsons, Landon Stanga and Colton Stanga.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, Ms 38654. A funeral service will occur on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Coldwater, Ms.
