Charles “Charlie” Howard of Olive Branch MS passed away December 8th. He was born in Memphis TN, the son of the former Ruby Stott and Walter Howard. He grew up in the Ft Pickering neighborhood and graduated from Southside High School. Charlie worked in the trucking industry and was a proud Teamster for nearly 50 years while simultaneously receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Memphis State University. He was a devoted member of Troop 48 of the Boy Scouts of America and grew up to be a scoutmaster of his own troop for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be outdoors, especially in Alaska. Possibly his favorite place to be was on the golf course with his friends and brother-in-law playing in local tournaments and he even taught himself to play with the opposite hand. He was a member for many years at Maples Memorial United Methodist Church. Charlie will be missed in this life by his wife and love of his life for 49 years, Patricia; son Marty; daughter Kelley; nephew Phillip; eleven brothers and sisters; many many nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews; four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his mother, father, brother Walter, and sister Cheryl Morgan. He will be memorialized at Maples Memorial United Methodist Church on December 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to The Boy Scouts of America, Troop 48 in Germantown TN.
