Chet Verdier Felts, Sr.

Chet Verdier Felts, Sr., 71, of Olive Branch, passed away September 23, 2011. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, and memorial services will be held at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church on Getwell Road at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28. Interment will be held at a later date at the Church of the Holy Apostles in Collierville. Born in Memphis, Chet was a longtime member of Holy Apostles Episcopal Church where he served as a Junior and Senior Warden and also as a lay Eucharistic Minister. Most recently, he was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Olive Branch. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and member of Unity Lodge #95, and he was a plasterer by trade. Always known as a giving man, Chet continued to give selflessly, even in death, through the donation of his tissues. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carolyn W. Felts; two sons, Chet V. Felts, Jr. and Robert E. Felts (Brandi); his daughter, Robin Hendon (Paul); five grandchildren, Samantha Felts, Mathew Felts, Isabella Felts, Hannah Hendon, and Sarah Hendon; three, sisters, Maggie Comes (Chris), Mary Yager (Paul), and Emily Posey; and his brother, Orville Phillips.
