Dave M. West

Dave Moore West, 86, passed away at DeSoto Baptist Hospital on April 24, 2014. He was born to Wade West and Lola Sinclair West of Oakwood, Texas. He was married going on 56 years to Robbie Robuck West. The West's were longtime residents of the Laredo and Encinal, Texas area where Dave worked for Union Pacific railroad for 42 years and Robbie worked for Mercy Hospital for 42 years. Dave was a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Encinal Texas. He served in the Army and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved to fish and garden. He is survived by his wife, Robbie Robuck West; two daughters, Lisa (Gary) Hammack and Leslie West; two grandchildren, Dustin Thomas (Crystal) Spielman and Kaitlin Yvonne Hammack; one great-grandchild, Adley Blake Spielman; sister-in-law, Johnnie Robuck Carter, and a very special cousin, Leon (Nell) Sinclair and many other special nieces and nephews. Special friends of the family Rebecca Coleman Phipps, Andelia Adame and the Guadalupe Garza family. Dave is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters; Opal Peevy, Pauline Staton, Jack, Harry and Marvin West. There will be a gathering of friends from 2 until 3 p.m. and the Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 all at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home and memorials may be given in honor to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
