Doris Gene Sylvester

Doris Gene Sylvester, 88, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Mrs. Sylvester was preceded in death by her brother, Teddy Arnett; and late husband, Paul Balentine. She is survived by her husband, Henry Sylvester; sons: David Cannon, Jr.(Bobbie), Joseph Cannon(Renee), and Daylon Cannon(Angie); grandchildren: David Cannon, III(Dana), Melissa Cannon, Scottie McDonald(John), Shannon Pope(Jonathan), Kristen Wildes(Jon), Nicole Cannon(Jeff), Adam Cannon(Emily), and Kade Gable(Liddy); 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ellis Arnett and Larry Arnett; and her children’s father, David Cannon, Sr. Mrs. Sylvester was a strong, independent lady who was full of life and a “force of nature”. She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and her faith was very important to her life. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, making porcelain dolls, gardening, and cooking. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Due to health concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will have a private service. Mrs. Sylvester will be interred at Bassett Cemetery in Bassett, AR.
