Ethel Mae Roberts, 93, of Shreveport, LA passed away July 10, 2023. Mrs. Roberts was born on January 24, 1930 in Shreveport, LA. During her younger years, she worked as a waitress but most of her life was spent as a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, dancing, and canning. She truly wanted her house to be a home for her family. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Grandma” to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Roberts; and three brothers: J.C. Burnley, R.M. Burnley, and Robert Earl Burnley. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Towne; daughter, Carolyn Walker (Martin); son, Robert Barnes; daughter, Betty Jo Chase; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Gene Burnley. The family will hold a private graveside service at Byhalia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion in her honor. All of her brothers served our country and the American Legion is an organization she was passionate about.
