

Lewisburg - JAMES PAUL BERRYHILL, SR., passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the age of 67. He was born July 13, 1944 to Flossie and Paul Berryhill. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Frankie McCulley; son, Jamie (Ashley); and grandsons, Aiden and Brooks. He also leaves behind a sister, Elizabeth Hanna; and brother, Howard (Sherry). He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pauline Huffman; and brothers, Darrell, Aubrey, and Rayford Berryhill. He retired in 1999 from CenturyLink after 30 years of service. James was a deacon and active church member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Lewisburg. He was a racecar enthusiast, driving his own car at Riverside Speedway and other local dirt tracks for many years. After retiring from racing in 1988, he spent his pastime working on cars and watching races or his favorite western movies. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. with services to follow at 3 p.m., all at New Prospect Baptist Church, Sunday, June 10. Interment will be at Baker’s Chapel Cemetery in Hernando, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to New Prospect Baptist Church, 310 Highway 305 North, Olive Branch, MS 38654, designated to the building fund.
