James Carl Helton, Jr.

James Carl Helton, Jr., 71 of Olive Branch, MS, born July 28, 1944, died March 13, 2016. He was a Marine Corp Veteran and a retired car salesman. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Carl Helton, Sr. and Mary Franklin Helton, a brother Wilbur Helton, a sister, Celestine Helton Hall; two daughters Darlene Helton and Pamela Helton Crump, and a grandson Justin Davis. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Nakasone Helton of Olive Branch, MS; 2 daughters Carlene McAllister (Spouse-Barry) of Olive Branch, MS and Cindy Denney (Spouse-Billy) of Nesbit, MS; 2 sons James "Jimbo" Helton (Fiancée-Allison) of Byhalia, MS and George Helton (Spouse-Tracy) of Lake Cormorant, MS; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 sisters Jean Tripp of North Carolina; Ruth Nations of MS; Mildred Pate of NC and Vickie Whitener of NC and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, March 16 from 5 - 8 pm with the funeral on Thursday, March 17 at 2 pm, all at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS. Interment will follow service at Blocker Cemetery.
