Jerry Lynn Blakely, 74, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025. Jerry was born on May 12, 1951, in Selmer, TN to the late Jack and Jewel Mae Blakely. He worked his whole life as a truck driver and he was also a teamster. He loved his family dearly and worked hard so that they could have a better life than he did growing up. He was his children’s baseball coach growing up. He also was active with his son, Scott, in the Boy Scouts where they built a pinewood derby car and won. One of the greatest joys of his life was being “Grandad” to his six grandsons. He spent countless hours throwing baseballs with them. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering in his shop. He could fix anything. He loved John Deere and had a tractor and gator that he drove all the time. Jerry was a believer in Jesus Christ and was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church. He was an ordained deacon and used to drive the church bus. Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Angie Blakely; son, Scott Blakely (Amy); daughter, Dell Minott (Cory); daughter, Jennifer Mullen (Jamie); grandsons: Brennan Bush, Drew Minott, Nolan Blakely, Carter Minott, Nate Blakely, and Jay Mullen; sister, Judy Redus; brother, Jack Blakely (Mary Catherine); and brother, Jimmy Blakely (Peggy). The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church on Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 3-4 pm with a funeral service to begin at 4:00 pm.
