Joe Tom Payne, 71, of Southaven, Mississippi died Friday, July 13, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Payne was born in Dyess, Arkansas to the late Ada & Roy Payne. He was a retired businessman, a pilot and a member of Gracewood Baptist Church. The family will receive guests on Monday, July 18 from twelve o’clock until funeral services begin at two o’clock all at Gracewood Baptist Church located at 8551 Getwell Road, Southaven, Mississippi 38672. Burial will follow the funeral service beginning at four o’clock at the Red Banks Baptist Church Cemetery located at Davis Road & Highway 78W in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his sisters Phylis Jennings & Maldona Johanson, and brothers John & C.L. Payne. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Vivian Payne, daughter Debora Alexander (Terry), son Dr. Wesley Payne (Dr. Maribeth Payne), sisters Opal Matthews & Lois Crites, brother Irvin Payne (Alpha), and grandchildren Jacob, Logan & Chelsea.
