

John Malcolm Hill, age 88, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 9, 1937, in New Albany, Mississippi, he was the son of John Douglas and Iona Elizabeth Hill.
John proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army. He worked as an aviation machinist at FedEx, retiring after 20 dedicated years. A devoted Freemason, he was a proud 50-year member of the Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree.
A man of strong faith, John was an active member of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time outdoors, golfing, and woodworking. He especially loved crafting birdhouses and taking care of his yard.
John's warmth, dedication, and quiet strength touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Douglas and Iona Elizabeth Hill; three sisters, Betty Webb, Linda Burger, Patsy Bailey, and two brothers, Marvin Hill and Wesley Hill.
John leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Nancy Hill; two children, Tammy Jo Hill (David McNiell), John Malcolm Hill, Jr. (Brenda); two brothers, Ralph Hill and Raymond Hill, and two grandchildren, Tabitha Fisher (Landon), and Janice Hill.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Maples Memorial United Methodist Church, 8745 Goodman Rd. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods.
