John Thurston Holt

John Thurston Holt passed away in his home on Tuesday morning, May 3 after battling esophageal cancer for over two years. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard Thurston Holt, and his mother, Mildred Grace Holt. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 37 years, his son, John Thurston Holt II (Laureen), his stepson Michael Earl Pendergrass, and his siblings, Joseph Holt (Nicole) of Walterboro, SC, Carol Holt Garris (Julian) of Summerville, SC, and William Holt (Amy) of Eudora, MS. John is also survived by his brother-in-law Thomas Carter (Bobbie) of Nesbit, MS and many nieces, nephews, and friends. John was born on March 16, 1949 in Memphis TN. He graduated from Hillcrest High School class of 1967 and in 1993 from the University of Memphis with a degree in Management Information Systems. After high school John joined the 164th Military Airlift Group TN Air National Guard which flew medical evacuation missions out of Southeast Asia. In 1994, John joined Ring Container Technologies and served as a Project Manager in the Controls Engineering Group. John was a member of Getwell Road United Methodist Church in Southaven MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Brantley Funeral Home, Olive Branch MS. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. at Brantley Funeral Home with internment at Memphis Memory Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please honor John by making a donation to M.
