

He loved all sports and played baseball, basketball and football in elementary, middle and high school. Jay went to school at Elliston Baptist Academy until ninth grade, and he graduated from Briarcrest Christian School. Jay loved his Saints family. Many coaches and faculty throughout his life were instrumental in helping Jay grow into the man he became. He adored college football and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide every year.
Jay is survived by his wife, Kelly, his son Tyler and daughter in law, Madison, his daughter, Sarah, his granddaughter, Selah, his Uncle Fred and Aunt Angila Webb, his first cousins Melinda (Reid) Tutor, Andrea (Aaron) Cole, Katherine (Jerry) Thompson, many other second and third cousins as well as close friends Dave Burke, Robin Harper Markart, Todd Fulford and a host of friends from school, church and work.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Siedell, his stepfather, Jim Stepherson and his mother, Sherry Stepherson as well as his grandparents.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 29 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Longview Point Baptist Church in Hernando, Mississippi, and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 11:00 am at Longview Point Baptist Church. For the celebration of life service, please wear your favorite college team colors or shirts to honor Jay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Briarcrest Alumni Association in Jay’s name.
