Katherine L. "Kathy" Powell

Katherine L. Powell, 74, of Byhalia, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011. The family will receive friends from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at First Baptist Church Byhalia, 2555 Church Street. Interment will follow in Byhalia Cemetery. Katherine was born in White County, AR, and she spent uncountable years devoting her love and attention to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Effie Brown; her sister; and four brothers. Katherine is survived by her husband of 44 years, George E. Powell; her son, Michael (Debbie) House; her daughter, Linda House McPhail; five grandchildren, Jessica House Wells, Samantha (Chris) House Wheatley, Christopher (Kristen) House, Dustin Milewski, and Morgan Milewski; three great grandchildren, Joseph House, Aiden Wells, and Hunter House; and two great grandchildren to enter this world in October, Hudson House and Jacob Wheatley.
