Madeline Waldrep Thomas

Madeline Thomas, 91, of Olive Branch, died peacefully on August 6, 2016. She is survived by three sons, Kent (Julie) Thomas of Phoenix, Arizona, Hugh (Susan) Thomas of Golconda, Illinois, and Tim (Carla) Thomas of Olive Branch, a daughter, Patsy (Don) Carlson, of Liberty Hill, Texas, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Verna M. Thomas.

Madeline was born September 24, 1924, in Jackson, Mississippi and graduated from Peoples High School in Tippah County. She and Verna were married in 1941; they were married for 68 years until his death in 2009. Family and friends will always remember Madeline as a devoted Christian, a loving wife and mother, and a dedicated homemaker. She last attended First Baptist Church of Olive Branch.

The family wishes to convey our gratitude to The Arbors at Olive Grove Terrace, as well as A&E Hospice, for their comfort and support in Madeline's final days.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, followed by funeral services at 10:00. All are invited to a reception immediately after the funeral.
