Mary Lynn Allen

Mary Lynn Allen, 78, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 22, 2021. Ms. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hardwick Allen, Jr.; parents, Leon Sr. and Mary Katherine Smith; and sister, Virginia Barber. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie Ackerman (David); son, Michael Leon Allen (Francine); son, Brian Patrick Allen; daughter, Melissa S. Edmondson (Larry); grandchildren: Rachel, Sam, Stephen, Patricia, Yann, Ashley, Matthew, and Shelbi; and brother, Leon Wesley Smith, Jr. Ms. Allen retired from Desoto County Schools as a teaching assistant. In her free time she was an avid animal lover and movie buff. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 11am-1 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Both visitation and funeral will be held at Getwell Church in Southaven, MS where she was an active member. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods. In lieu of flowers, the family asks any memorial be sent to Getwell Church or your local animal shelter.
