Nancy Irene Long, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024. Born on November 22nd, 1947 to the late Garvin and Mignion May in Steele, MO. Nancy was a homemaker that found joy in working side by side with the love of her life for fifty six years, Leon Long. Together they built three companies. The most recent being L&N Builders. Leon would build the homes and Nancy was the interior designer choosing the designs and colors for the homes. She loved camping. She would spend a week cooking everyone’s favorite foods for the upcoming trip. One of her favorite camping trips was when she went out west with her grandchildren on a six week adventure. Her passion in life was her family and her dog, Toby Tucker. She made sure that everyone in the family had whatever they needed. In fact, many have said that she was everyone’s grandmother. She loved to watch old westerns and listen to her favorite songs from her youth. Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon Long; her parents, Garvin and Mignion May, and her sister, Shirley Dean May. She leaves behind two children, Lori Spangler (Mike), and Brian Long; two siblings, Betty “Bookie” Fisher, and Billy May. Nancy also leaves behind five grandchildren, Meagan Spangler (Mark Smith), Taylor Welch (Ethan), Dillon Otts (Ashley), and twins Lindsey Spangler and Peyton Spangler; her great grandchildren Alina Otts and Cade Welch. Nancy Long lived a good life, and she truly made a difference in her family’s life.
