Raymond Edgar Longbotham, Jr.

Mr. Raymond (Ray) Longbotham Jr., age 73, of Collierville, TN passed away December 10, 2019 after a long illness at Methodist Germantown Hospital. Ray was born on July 27, 1946 in El Paso, TX to the late Syble Brunson and Raymond Edgar Longbotham. Ray is survived by his wife Barbara Longbotham and sister Shirley (Chester) McLaughlin of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ray served in the United States Marine Corps spending time at the Millington, TN naval base. He later lived in Orange County, CA working for Coast Envelope. He and his wife, Barbara, returned to the Memphis area living in Collierville, TN until his passing. Ray obtained his real estate license after returning to Tennessee and worked for various new home builders in the Shelby and Fayette county area until his retirement. Ray could strike up a conversation with anyone. He formed long lasting friendships with many of his homeowners and colleagues. His love for dogs motivated him to serve as a host home for various rescue dogs.

Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, December 23, 2019 at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 9:30am with Pastor Kristofer Roof officiating.
