

Robert Eugene McGee, 81, of Byhalia, MS, was called home by the Lord on August 24, 2013. He was born in New Albany, MS on October 22, 1931. Robert is survived by his daughter, Sandra Thompson and husband Morris Thompson of Byhalia, MS; his son Ralph J. McGee of Diamondhead, MS. He also leaves his granddaughter Lesly Williams; grandson, Bradley Thompson and wife Pam; and four great grandchildren, Alexis and Michael Spencer Williams; Eli Inman and James "McGee" Thompson. Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Corrine; daughter Donna Kay McGee (Rhonda Cosentino); his parents Blossie Pearl Griffith and Joseph Ben McGee; two sisters Hettie Maude Teague and Irene Deming; and three brothers, James McGee, John Everett McGee, and J.P. McGee. He was a loving and faithful husband and father who loved his family. Robert lived a Christian life, taught his children in the Christian faith, and served as a witness for the Lord every day. He was a member of Byhalia First Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and assisted with various odd jobs and maintenance tasks. He loved motorcycling trips with his wife, and he was a member of the North Mississippi Masonic Motorcycle Club. Mr. McGee was an active member of Byhalia Lodge #115 where he served as past Master. He also served as past Patron of Loftin Chapter 309 Eastern Star, and he was a member of the Zaman Grotto and volunteered on the charity fish fry team to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy. He retired from NorthCentral Electric Power Co., and he also enjoyed exploring new woodworking and carpentry projects. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, August 26 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Byhalia.
