Wallace McRae Box, Jr., 71, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on April 4, 2023. Mac was preceded in death by his father, Wallace McRae Box, Sr.; mother, Mary Green Box; grandson, Colin Box; and two brothers, Terry Lee Box and Timothy Vaughn Box. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Denise Box; son, Tim Box (April); son, Chris Box (Melanie); grandchildren: Terry, Trae, Kaela, Timothy, and Zackary; 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Hollis Box (Carolyn); and Denise’s “wife-in-law”, Vera Liles. Mac was born on May 10, 1951 in Memphis, TN. He served our country for 10 years in the United States Marine Corps and was very proud of his service. He worked over 35 years in the hotel industry. He began his career with Holiday Inn and later retired from Hilton. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and watching Tennessee Volunteer football. The most important thing in Mac’s life was his family and one of his greatest joys was being “Pawpaw Mac” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and being “Uncle Mac” to his nieces, nephews, and chosen family. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to LeBonheur or St. Jude in his honor.
