Wayne Dwight Howell Osborn

Wayne Dwight Howell Osborn, 85, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2025. Mr. Osborn was born on October 12, 1940 in Batesville, MS to the late William Grady Osborn and Ella Howell Osborn. He graduated from Mississippi School for the deaf in 1961 where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He worked for the Commercial Appeal as a newspaper composer. Mr. Osborn was very detail oriented and if you didn’t do something right, he would show you how to do it. He was good at anything he put his mind to. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the Ole Miss Rebels play. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Collierville Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Fitzgerald. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Osborn; daughter, Denise Baskin (Brian); son, Steve Fitzgerald (Karen); sister, Evelyn Manning; sister, Geneva McClung; sister, Grace Bailey; brother, Foylee Osborn; brother, Gene Osborn; grandchildren: Austin Fitzgerald, Kylie Fitzgerald, Hunter Baskin, Brennen Fitzgerald, Cameron Fitzgerald, Chelsea Heath, Reagan Ervin, Blake Ervin, and Brennon Ano; and 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Osborn will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
