

William Ryan Simpson, 21, of Olive Branch, MS, died suddenly at his home early Monday morning, January 30, 2017. He was born September 15, 1995, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the son of Brad and Laurin (Wood) Simpson. He attended Olive Branch schools and graduated from Olive Branch High School in 2014, where he was a member of the 2011 Olive Branch State Champions football team, a member of the high school soccer team all four years, member of the drama club where he participated in the productions of, “Bye Bye Birdie”, and “Egg and I”. He was employed as a lawn technician at Green King Services. Ryan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Ryan is survived by his parents Brad and Laurin(Wood) Simpson of Olive Branch; his brothers Carlton and Darrin both of Olive Branch. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Mickey and Ann Wood of Booneville, MS; and his paternal grandparents, Dilma and the late Ross Simpson, of Byhalia, MS. He is survived by his maternal great grandmother, Ruth Wood and the late Huey Wood of Booneville, MS. He is survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Family will receive guests Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at Maples Memorial United Methodist Church, 8745 Goodman Rd. Olive Branch, MS 38654, at 2 pm with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Byhalia, MS.
