Frederick Herbert Schappert

Frederick Herbert Schappert (1921~2014) - Fred passed away peacefully at the Sunnybank Centre on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the age of 92. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his 6 siblings, Caroline, John, Rudy, Margaret, Emma and Bill. He spent most of his life as a gold miner and was a Veteran of World War II. Fred spent most of the war in Italy and later was transferred to the Normandy Landing. He loved fishing, going for drives and enjoying his trips to Rock Creek for ice cream. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, 1 o'clock at the Oliver Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Bible Society, 700 Kingsway, Vancouver, B.C.
