John Henry Golz (1922~2014) - Passed away peacefully in Toronto, Ontario on Monday, March 10, 2014. He lived a long and fairly healthy life, in spite of becoming blind at the age of about 74. He was predeceased by 5 siblings and his parents during the war years (Poland and Germany). He was a hard worker and loved to bowl, earning himself several awards at the local bowling alley. Even to the end of his days he had an incredible memory and was able to give us an accurate, sometimes entertaining and always interesting family history, regaling us with stories of his past. A private family internment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Osoyoos. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his two nieces and nephew, Ingrid Greig (Mike), Anita Viergutz (Dave) and Walter Siewert (Lisa) and their children Jessica (Brad), Jonathan, Tiffany, Josiah, Stefani, Jeremy, Julianne, Andrew and John. We know he is rejoicing in heaven, where the first face he saw after years of blindness was the face of Jesus.
Arrangements entrusted to Blaine Krist at Graham Funeral Home, 5920 Kootenay Street, Oliver, B.C. (250) 498-3833. Your message of condolence, sharing your fond memories of John may be sent to: www.grahamfh.com
Goodbye my family, my life is past.
I loved you all to the very last.
Weep not for me, but courage take,
Love each other for my sake.
For those you love don't go away,
They walk beside you everyday.
