Ann was born on May 22, 1943, in Eureka, South Dakota, and attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. She taught elementary school for a number of years.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick J. and Zella Ann Homeyer. She is survived by her husband, John Edward Francis; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Steve Swagerty; her sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Keri, and Michael and Jenn; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily, and Peyton; and other family members.
Ann loved traveling the country with John in their RV and as part of their Corvette club. From Arizona to the Black Hills, she thought of her family and brought back tokens from each adventure.
Ann sang all her life and was a member of The Grand Singers in Surprise, AZ. She had a lovely voice and often included her grandchildren in her practices. Birthdays won’t be the same without her calling to sing to each of us as soon as we answered the phone. Her home was always filled with treats and holiday favorites—Chex Mix, turtles, and lemon bars—which will be well enjoyed in her memory.
The funeral will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home on April 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Family will be there from 12:00–1:00 PM to receive guests.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha at rmhcomaha.org/give
