Doc was my advisor for my MS back in 1972. Since my work was on urban storm water runoff, every time it rained we had to take samples of the runoff. He had one of our four sampling sites, fairly near his home. So he was on call just like the lowly grad student, and believe me it never rained that year in the day, always at night. He was a fine gentleman and a great mentor to me and others. It was because of him and Dr. Hammer that I chose my career path and for that I am grateful. Sorry about his passing and may God grant you his peace in the days ahead.

Joni - sending oodles of hugs your way during this difficult time.

I have such fond memories of your Mom and Dad while visiting your house in Lincoln in junior high and high school. They were always encouraging, yet not interrupting our very important (or so we thought) conversations. Your house always felt so warm and full of life and energy! Perhaps that was due to the activity of your brothers and younger sister.

I know the love they had for you lives on.

Love,
Debbie
