Elaine A. Knapp

Elaine A. Knapp 5/14/48 – 6/19/16 Age 68 Elaine was born in Cedar Rapids, NE and moved to Omaha when she was a baby. Elaine attended Our Lady of School thru the 8th grade, then she went to South High School. That is where she met Charles (Butch), the love of her life and they were married for 45 years until he passed away in 2009. They had 4 wonderful children that she was very proud of. Elaine worked for Omaha Public Schools as a teacher’s aide and in the cafeteria for several years. She then started a licensed daycare and had that for 35 years. Elaine was very kind, generous, and caring. She had so much love for her family. She loved to have family gatherings for dinner and to play cards the remainder of the evening. She loved to cook and to go camping. Elaine was involved in functions at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and belonged to TOPS group where she made many great friends over the years. She was a great lady and will be missed by everyone that knew her. Our memories of Elaine will be carried in our hearts forever. We will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by husband, Charles; parents, Leonard and Doris. Survived by children, Diana (Jonathon) Marshall, Richard (Susan) Knapp, Jennifer Jewell and Kimberly Bartunek; siblings, William (Denise) Lapacek, Rita (Joseph) Ziskovsky and Kenneth (Ruby) Lapacek;11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, family and friends. VISITATION begins Tuesday, 5pm at Our Lady of Lourdes, 2110 S. 32nd Ave, with ROSARY SERVICE at 7pm. FUNERAL SERVICE 10:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes.
