Born to Charles and Elsie Short in Chillicothe, Il. She moved to Omaha in 1951 where she
met Kenneth Adams. They were married on October 17, 1953, in Huntington Beach, CA. 6 months
later they returned to Omaha and started their family in 1955. In the beginning, Florence was a
stay-at-home mom until all her children were in school. She was very involved in many
church ministries, especially Christian Ed and Women’s Mission Society. She was an active
member of the school PTA. She worked for Millard Public Schools for 10 years and then
subbed for several years after.
Preceded in death by mother Elsie Short, Sister Dorothy Walker, infant son Kendall Adams,
husband Kenneth L. Adams, son-in-law Geoffrey Hamilton.
Survived by sister Charlotte Vodicka, children: Cynthia Hamilton, Larry (Sandy) Adams,
Donna Hagen, Kevin Adams, and special friend Lucy Cox. Grandchildren: MSgt Erin (Randy)
Bonen, Adam (Michele) Hamilton, Amanda (Brian) Browning, Matthew (Amanda) Hagen,
Mark (Laura) Hamilton, Andrew (Erin) Hagen, Jennifer Adams, Nathan (fiancé Desiree)
Adams special friend Nathan Cox.12 great-grandchildren: Kenneth, Emma, Elsie, Reid
Hamilton, Safron & Zooey Groot, Corrin, Jaiden, Lucy Browning, Addalynn, Henry, Caleb
Hagen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We will miss her greatly but rejoice in the fact that she is safe in the arms of Jesus.
