Harry was born in Omaha, NE on June 13, 1937 to Harry C. and Ella Pitner. After graduating from North High School, he joined the United States Air Force, and later the Air Force Reserves. He enjoyed a long career at Union Pacific Railroad as an electrical engineer. He was an avid Cornhusker football and Creighton basketball fan. He enjoyed golfing and watching westerns, particularly those starring John Wayne. He shared his passions with his children and grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Pitner; brother, Richard Pitner; daughters, Susan Vestal and Denise Pitner; grandchildren, Amber Douglas, Ryan (Macie) Douglas, and Stephanie Douglas; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry C. and Ella Pitner; sister-in-law, Joan Pitner; and son-in-law, Brent Vestal.
