John "Jack" Boje grew up in Carroll, Iowa working for his father and uncle in their company, Boje Construction. He was enrolled in the army when he married his wife, Mary, a nurse. They lived briefly in Chicago where he was stationed. He worked for IBM repairing typewriters and moved on to computers in the sixties. He was active in the seventies in in the Catholic Workers Movement and helped refit a homeless shelter's kitchen. In the eighties, Jack worked for King Faisal Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Jack worked for many well-known companies in Omaha such as IBM, First Data, Lab Interlink and the Med Center. He also worked for American Express in St. Charles, Missouri and Charlotte, North Carolina before retiring to Corpus Christi, Texas. He spent his last remaining days in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Jack is survived by his wife, Mary A. Boje; children, Constance (Anthony) Montoya, Eileen (Ron) Broich, and John (Maria) Boje; siblings, Mary Anne Pudenz, Doris Rayer, Sara Casey, and Thomas Boje; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 6-8pm at Westlawn-Hillcrest with Rosary at 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 29 at 10am at St. Wenceslaus Church, 15353 Pacific St. Omaha, NE, with Interment to follow at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
