

John Lynn Davey, the son of Clark and Marjorie (Heilesen) Davey was born on April 22, 1952 in Atlantic, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm near Walnut, Iowa staying active in 4H, FFA, and a member of the Shelby County and Elk Horn Saddle clubs, graduating from Elk Horn-Kimballton High School in 1970.
After graduating he moved to Omaha and began working as a Pepsi route driver and was united in marriage to Margaret "Maggie" Ann (Dunkle) in Omaha, NE on February 5, 1972. Three children were born into this union, and he continued his work career leaving Pepsi and driving for Armour Trucking, then in the fall of 1980 he went to drive for his brother Bob until he retired in 2022.
John is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda; and brothers, Gene and Marty. He is survived by his wife, Maggie; sons, Brian and his wife Niccole, Brad and his wife Shelly, and Brent of Glenwood, IA; granddaughter, Nadia of Blair, NE; grandsons, Jase, Michael, and Noah of Blair, NE; and grand-dog, Baxter; two brothers, Bob and wife Sophie, Glenn and wife Sharon; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request a donation be made in John’s name to the Nebraska 4H foundation, and will go to the Washington county 4H horse program. You can donate online at ne4hfoundation.org or the address below noting things for John Davey Memorial fund.
