John was born March 22, 1932 to Clarence and Lila (Johnson) Forster in Durand, WI. He lived on a farm near there his first 18 years. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1950. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed at various bases in several countries, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant from Offut Air Force Base after serving 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; three sons, Rod, Bob (Toy), Mike; four daughters, Cindy (John) Heenan, Cheri Kochis, Ellen Forster, Lynne (Pete) Adams; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 stepchildren, Rennae (Richard) Wietfeld, Deb (Mike) Frazey, Jeff Duhsmann, Greg (Brenda) Duhsmann; 10 step grandchildren, 5 step great-grandchildren;
sisters, Esther (Dallas) Giles, Maxine (Dave) Hietman, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant son, Frank Clarence Forster, grandson, Mark Adams, his parents, grandparents, sister, Cleo Slinkhard and niece, Karen Fickle.
VISITATION Friday from 6-8pm with a Vigil Service at 7pm.
FUNERAL SERVICE 10am Saturday all at Westlawn Hillcrest Chapel.
Interment Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery.
