

Born in Lincoln, NE to Marlin Hershberger and Laura Jo (DeWitt) Hershberger.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunt, uncles and nephew.
Survived by wife, Cindy, daughters, Beri Edwards (Rob) of Lincoln, Raechel Hershberger of Lincoln, and Heather Strong (fiancé James Rudd) of Omaha; grandchildren Amauria, TeAndre “Pete”, Callen, and Ryan; sister Linda Moore of Milford and brother William “Bill” Hershberger of Lincoln; In-laws Marion and Elaine Rosenbohm of Omaha; aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Jay served in the U.S. Army as SPC-4 motor transport operator and received a good conduct medal. Jay loved fishing, boating, and grilling. He was a fan of Nascar and Raiders football. And, when he wasn’t riding his Harley, he was spending time with his friends and family.
Jay had a gift for socializing and could always light up a room. Jay earned an Associates in Applied Science, machine tool technology. He served a long life as a Tool and Die technician and loved working with his hands.
Visitation Sunday from 1:00-4:00PM at Crosby Colonial Chapel. Memorial Service Monday at 11:00AM at Crosby Colonial Chapel. Inurnment at Papillion Cemetery, Papillion, NE. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Cindy Hershberger.
