AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Robert and Arlene Prall

Avis de décès de Robert and Arlene Prall
AUX SOINS DE

Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home & Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Adair Prall on June 8, 2023, followed by the passing of Arlene Joyce Prall on June 30, 2023. Robert was 89 years old, and Arlene was 86 years old.

Robert and Arlene had been married for 67 years. They were married on October 23, 1955, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, in Scribner, Nebraska. They deeply loved each other and were best friends. When Robert passed away in early June, Arlene missed him so much. It’s comforting to know they’re together again in heaven.

Robert and Arlene will be lovingly remembered by their children Allen (Leslie), Kathleen, Suzanne (John) and Linda (Christian); grandchildren Heather (Jeremy), Chandler (Moriah), John (Sarah), Sarah Beth (Matthew), and Connor; and great-grandchildren Makai, Kiara, Roan, Griffin, Callan, Eleanor, Abby, Noah, Liam, and Emma.

Robert was born to parents Forrest and Elsie Prall on January 3, 1934, in Herkimer, Kansas. He graduated from Hanover Rural High School and was a graduate from Midland College. He was also stationed for a time with the Navy at San Diego. He taught mathematics at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, for several years. Then the family eventually moved to Colorado Springs where he taught at Pikes Peak Community College for 25 years.

Arlene was born to parents John and Luella Steinke on November 13, 1936, in Scribner, Nebraska. She graduated from Scribner High School and attended Wayne State Teachers College. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom for many years, raising her four children. Then when the kids were older, she got a job at the Air Force Academy, working in the admissions office for 20 years.

Robert had many interests: growing houseplants, making pottery, playing board games, and studying/sharing all things math. Arlene especially loved cooking and baking. She had an amazing collection of recipes, and her food was the best! She was also very interested in genealogy, extensively tracing and documenting her family history.

Arlene and Bob had many shared interests as well, including gardening, watching old movies, playing Mexican Train Dominoes, and playing Bridge. They also regularly attended services at Redeemer Lutheran Church and participated in various Bible studies through the years. Their faith was very important to them.

Robert and Arlene were very loving and supportive of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who are now blessed with many treasured memories.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate their lives will be held in Colorado Springs at Redeemer Lutheran Church on August 5, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
