Virginia Cathryn Chadwell was one of four children born to Oliver and Donna Felker of Omaha NE in 1944. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Engineering and began working as an engineer for QO Chemicals in Omaha, NE and retired from B&D in Columbus, NE.
On October 4, 1974 Virginia was united into marriage with Harold D Chadwell of Omaha, NE. To this union two children were born: Daniel and Cathryn. After their wedding they found a home in Elkhorn, NE which was their home for 20 years before moving to Columbus, NE to finish their working careers. In 2010 they moved to Prescott, AZ to enjoy the mountains, beautiful weather and the fruits of their hard work. When they learned of grand-daughter Madalyns arrival they moved to Fort Worth TX so they could be closer to family.
Virginia loved being involved in the community where she was always volunteering and making sure her kids were active sports. She worked closely with the Special Olympics, CASA, St. Patrick’s Church, and many other organizations in her mission to give back. She loved to umpire softball, referee volleyball and soccer. In her later years she took up Bridge and played 3-4 times a week.
Virginia died peacefully in her home in Fort Worth, TX on September 22, 2023 at the age 79 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Harold, of 46 years; son Daniel Chadwell: her brother David Lee and brother-in-law James Shiffer. She is survived by her daughter Cathryn and her husband Michael Fragola, her granddaughter Madalyn; her sisters Patricia and Joyce and their husbands Donald Schnitker and Gary Van Horn respectively as well as many nieces, nephews and friends
Funeral Services will be on October 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Western Lawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home 5701 Center St, Omaha, NE
