William "Bill" Dean Osick, born Jan 1, 1931 to Herman and Elsie Hufendick in Newton Kansas, went home to his heavenly father on February 4, 2023. As he kept saying in his final days, he had lived a long life, a full life, and a good life.
He married his college sweetheart, Kathleen McKissick July 9, 1954, and they had one daughter together, Florence.
William became a Presbyterian minister after graduating from Dubuque Seminary in 1957. He remained a Presbyterian minister until his retirement in the late '90's.
Over the years he served churches in Coal Valley, IL; Aurora, Nebraska; Chariton, Iowa; and Green Bay, Wisconsin (yes, he learned to enjoy football). His last church was in New Orleans Louisiana, where the good times definitely did roll.
While in Green Bay he became involved in the Interfaith Seaman’s Ministry, which was a ministry to the sailors, both domestic and international while they were in port.
The highlight of his life was the birth of his granddaughter Hannah, on November 26, 1994. The sun rose and set on her, and will continue to do so. They shared a close relationship and loved each other to the moon and back.
He has now joined his beloved wife Kathleen and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Flo, son-in-law Dan, beloved granddaughter Hannah, and immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to some of his favorite institutions, such as the Joslyn Art Museum, Lauritzen Gardens, The Durham Museum, and Omhaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.
